Hackney Marsh Heros

2002, Personal analogue/film project. Mamiya C220 and Kodak Tri-X 400.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Part of a joint project called ‘Footballissimo’. A grass roots celebration of football in a world cup year. I went to Hackney Marshes (the home of grass roots football in the UK) every Sunday for months and shot portraits of pub team football players. This project was full of classic characters and fruity language. I loved shooting this. So much humour and warmth.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ It was part of a lovely exhibition at the spitz gallery in Spitalfields market, 2002.
